Peppergrass Farm consists of two
buildings, the barn and the riding arena, each being
constructed of heavy steel girder framing and metal siding. Both
buildings are fully
insulated with fire proof insulation and are connected by a large corridor
making your winter riding experience that much more comfortable. The
entire complex is bolted down to an 8ft deep
concrete foundation. Our aim was to build a riding facility that
could withstand just about anything Mother Nature had to throw at us.
We have definitely accomplished that!
The barn, with its heated tack room with washing
machine and dryer, heated wash stall and heated bathroom
with shower is 80ft x 80ft. There are 24 stalls with 7.5ft
walls, ranging in size from 10ft x 11ft to 11ft x 13ft. Each stall
is equipped with two water buckets and it's own water system. All
of our stalls have been fitted with the "Comfort Stall" flooring
system for ultimate cushioning. The two 16ft wide aisles, along
with ceilings that are open to the roof, create a light and spacious
environment with good air circulation. Having no overhead hay
storage, we have removed the fire hazard, as well as, excess dust, which
creates breathing problems. The arena measures 180ft x
100ft with a center height of over 30ft, thus creating a
non-claustrophobic airy feel indoors. There are 8ft high hemlock
kick walls on both long sides and 4ft walls on the short sides.
The extra width of the arena allows for schooling of larger fences and
courses indoors. The well-maintained sand footing provides a
stable, non-slip riding surface. Our available turnout
ranges from individual paddocks to two large fields with "Nelson Horse
Waterers." |
